Quilting Feathers Using a Rice Bag

I started quilting a feathers today on batik red and a solid red fabric knowing every stitch would show. I wanted more control then I was getting.  I considered using a ruler to get a perfect spine for my feathers, but then I have to use a hopping foot, and I can,t see as well when I’m doing the actual feathers.
When I bought my longarm I was given a couple of rice bags which is something Sharon Schambler recommended for more control.  So today I decided to give it a try. I laid the rice bags near where I was quilting, and was pleasantly surprised to have great control.  This may be my new favorite tool!
